Gold Breath: Man of Ash ch.6It was before dawn the next day that Slade stood, tightening Pax's saddle. Outside the waterfall, back in grass for the first time, it was dark and cold. The wind blew almost blisteringly cold, a sudden change from just days ago. A change that did not settle well in Slade's stomach.   
 He patted Pax on the neck before turning around. Braving the sudden cold, Alger and Vadim stood, both cloaked. Alger showed more signs of distress, not used to wearing the less warming clothing of the Silensians beneath a cloak. He was shivering.   
 Slade walked over to him and placed his hands on the prince's shoulders, gripping Gold Breath: Man of Ash ch.6

StaticMaybe I couldn't see because the moon was hidden behind a cloud, black like licorice, thick like clotted blood. Maybe it was the blown out street light, keeping the alley in the shadow of death. Maybe I had my eyes closed.   
 I live in an old movie, something black and white playing on your grandmother's static TV set. Where everyone wears the same sports jacket and nice tie, the sane hair bob dyed just right. Perfect light gray, perfect pouting dark lips.   
 My hands are slick, I can feel them, the knife in my hand is slipping. I look down, oh yes, my eyes were closed. Opening them I see my same world, the sam Static

Golden Breath: Man of Ash ch.5When Alger was done, Vadim leaned back and folded his hands in his lap, seeming to be lost in thought. After a moment he stood up and motioned for Alger and Slade to follow. He walked behind the couches and down the back of the platform. Exiting through another curtain, they traveled down a long hallway, stopping near the end. Vadim slipped through another curtain, followed closely by Alger and Slade, who stood at the entrance to the room as he continued in.   
 It was his bedchambers, an oval shaped room with a thick, cream color carpet in the center, under the bed. There was a bookshelf on one side of the room, and the other Golden Breath: Man of Ash ch.5

You've seen it around DA, and yes, I am part of it. Through the month of Nov I will strive to write a 50,000 word novel. Now, in order to do this, I will sadly have to put all other projects on hold (except for what I have to write for my creative writing class). So yes, DM's hiatus is no official. It will resume at the end of Nov or when I finish this novel.

I think all writer's should go give this a try. My name's MandiMorbid (go figure) so go add me, I'm very excited about this :) And yes, the novel will be posted here XD
